Whimsy & Wool
Crochet, beadwork, and small strange treasures

Made slowly, on purpose

Crochet, original beadwork, and the occasional mushroom with opinions. Everything is made by hand in small numbers, which means some of it exists exactly once.

Four corners of the shop

Wearables, things for the house, original art, and small objects that don't fit anywhere else.

Recently finished

The most recent things to come off the hook. Some are one of a kind, so they may not be here long.

Three women crafting together at a sunlit table with yarn and art supplies
About

Three people, too much yarn

Whimsy & Wool started because Madison, Lisa, and Lauvanni couldn't stop making things. First it was gifts. Then it was gifts nobody had asked for. Then it was a folding table at a local market, which went better than expected.

We work in different mediums and don't always agree on color. Madison and Lisa work in yarn — blankets, wearables, small soft things. Lauvanni works in beads and paint, setting thousands of tiny stones onto canvas one at a time, which takes the kind of patience the rest of us don't have.

Everything is made in small numbers, at whatever pace the piece needs. Some things take an evening. The blankets take weeks. We'd rather make fewer and get them right.

Find us at a market

From idea to shelf

  1. It starts with yarn

Usually something we bought without a plan, which turns out to be the plan.

  2. It gets made

Somewhere between one evening and three weeks, depending on what it is.

  3. It gets checked

Every piece is inspected, measured, photographed, and wrapped properly.

  4. It goes home

To a shelf, a neck, a nursery, or a market table.

Markets

Come see it in person

Photos can't do texture. If you're nearby, this is the better way to shop — you can pick things up, and we'll tell you more than you wanted to know about the yarn.

No markets on the calendar just yet — check back soon, or say hello below and we'll let you know where we'll be next.

Know when things appear

New pieces, market dates, and the occasional look at what's on the hook. Not often, and never more than once a week.

Contact

Questions, ideas, commissions

About a piece, a custom order, a market, or something you saw and want in a different color. We're a small operation, so give us a day or two.

Ask about custom work

Tell us the colors, the size, and roughly when you need it. Some things we can do, some we can't, and we'll tell you which.

Things worth knowing

Short version, no fine print.

Shipping

Finished pieces ship within 3–5 days, tracked. Made-to-order takes a week or two, sometimes longer for blankets. We ship anywhere in the country and offer market pickup.

Returns

If something isn't right, tell us within 14 days and we'll sort it. One-of-a-kind and custom pieces are final sale, but ask first and we'll talk it through.

Handmade Disclaimer

Colors, sizes, and stitches vary slightly between pieces. Variegated yarn especially never lands the same way twice. That's the appeal, not a defect.
